Birds are the beauty of the nature. There is a large contribution of the birds of Bangladesh to make our nature more beautiful. Our village gets festive with the charming sound of different types of birds. Different types of birds like wild birds, seen all around the Bangladesh. Also, migratory birds come from the Siberia and Himalayas searching for food and shelter to survive during winter season. Although, these birds go back to home again after spring.
It’s extremely hard to identify Bangladesh birds and their real name. Even, in our local books have not correct names. Besides, you will not get Bengali name of these birds in foreign books. That’s why I have researched a few hours and made a list of common birds of Bangladesh and Bengal birds name with pictures.

1. Magpie Robin (Doyel bird) – National Bird of Bangladesh
Magpie Robin is the national bird of Bangladesh. It’s mostly known as Doel bird, Doyel Pakhi, and Doel Pakhi in our country. The bird is very charming and beautiful. It is very small in size and nineteen
The color of male Doel bird is black and white. Also, female birds are pretty similar to male birds. Only deference is female Doels are grayer in color.
Also, it is very distinctive. The bird is well known for its delightful and melodious whistle. Magpie Robin eat insect that’s why our crops getting saved from harmful insects and our farmer getting benefitted. The people of Bangladesh are very proud to have this bird as their national bird, that’s why it can be seen in Bangladeshi currency and monument.

2. House Sparrow (Chorui Pakhi)
The male House Sparrow has black face, grey crown, upperparts are brown and black. Usually the throat is black, but when breeding the black color extend from throat to the chest and top of the belly.
Female Chorui Pakhi is paler than male and does not have crown. Young birds are similar to adult female birds.
Both male and female construct the nest, collect food, and care for young birds. Although only female house sparrow incubates the eggs. The nest is made of wool, feathers and grass. They build nest in suitable place such as crevices in walls, roof voids etc in building.

Color: Combination of black, white, gray, brown, and buff.
Size: 5-6 inches long and wingspan 9 inches.
